Messaging that keeps your conversations yours, not ours.
Quanta is an encrypted messaging platform for individuals and teams who take privacy seriously. End-to-end encrypted with published, standard cryptography — and built to last. Run it in our cloud, or on your own infrastructure.
Free forever for individuals. No credit card required.
What's included
Everything you need to communicate securely
Built for individuals who value their privacy and teams who need enterprise-grade security without the enterprise complexity.
End-to-End Encryption
Your messages are encrypted on your device and can only be read by the people you sent them to. Not by us, not by anyone who takes our servers.
Group Messaging
Create groups of up to 1,024 members, with admins and member management. Every message is end-to-end encrypted for each member's devices.
Secure File Sharing
Share photos, videos, and documents. Attachments are encrypted in transit and at rest on our storage. End-to-end encrypted attachments — where the keys never reach us — are on the roadmap.
Voice & Video Messages
Record and send encrypted voice notes and video messages. Transcoded for every device, readable only by the people you sent them to.
Voice & Video CallsComing soon
Realtime encrypted calling, 1:1 and group — with the media encrypted end to end before it ever reaches a relay. In design; not available yet.
On-Device SafetyPlanned
Warnings for explicit imagery and grooming patterns, running entirely on your phone — the analysis never leaves the device and we never see the content. Built on the Heimdall Guard safety models (heimdall.nooz.ai). iOS first; Android to follow.
Encrypted Stream PlaneEarly access · talk to us
Reach systems behind firewalls without opening a port. Both endpoints dial out to a relay that pairs them and forwards ciphertext it cannot read — for remote access, secure connectors, and system-to-system links.
Self-HostingEarly access · talk to us
Run Quanta on your own infrastructure — packaged charts, signed images, and a documented container security model.
Open Standards
X3DH key agreement and XChaCha20-Poly1305 — named, published cryptography, not our own invention. Our wire format and golden test vectors are documented so integrators can verify interoperability.
How it works
Up and running in minutes
No complex setup, no training required. Private by default, simple by design.
Create your account
Create your account with NT Connect, and add your phone number so people who know it can find you. The lookup is private — our server can't tell which numbers you looked up.
// Create your account
No credit card. No ads. No BS.
Find people you know
Type a phone number to see if they're on Quanta. The lookup is private: our server can't tell which number you looked up, and your address book never leaves your device.
// Find people by phone number
Start messaging
Messages are encrypted on your device before sending, and arrive on all your devices — including your own other devices. Typing indicators show who's writing.
Reach systems behind the firewall — without opening one.
Quanta's stream plane carries far more than chat. Two endpoints each dial outbound to a relay that pairs them by session id and forwards ciphertext it cannot read. No inbound port. No VPN. No trusted middlebox holding your keys.
That gives you an encrypted, multiplexed channel between two systems that neither we nor the network in between can inspect — for remote administration, machine-to-machine links, and connectors into environments that are not supposed to be reachable from the internet.
Outbound only
Both sides dial out. Nothing to expose, nothing to port-forward, nothing new to defend.
Blind by construction
The relay pairs sessions and moves bytes. It never parses, decrypts, or stores what passes through it.
Published contract
A documented wire format with golden test vectors, so an integrator can build against it and verify byte-for-byte.
Works with the rest of the toolkit
Quanta is the secure transport layer for NT's agent products. These integrations are in progress.
CallCraft
Coming soonAI voice agents that can hold a real conversation.
Bring CallCraft agents into Quanta conversations under their own identity. Agents with registered keys are end-to-end encrypted like any other participant; until an agent registers keys, messages to it are not end-to-end encrypted.

Coming soonAutonomous agents that do the work, not just the talking.
Give agents a scoped, revocable identity inside Quanta so they can act on your behalf in a conversation, with every action attributable to the agent. Agents with registered keys are end-to-end encrypted like any other participant; until an agent registers keys, messages to it are not end-to-end encrypted.

Microsoft Teams bridge
Planned · talk to usChat with colleagues who use Microsoft Teams, from Quanta. Teams messages pass through a Quanta bridge, so these conversations are not end-to-end encrypted — the bridge and Microsoft can read them.

Protecting your child shouldn't mean giving up your own privacy
Quanta launches for adults (18+); family features follow. Most services make you choose: encryption for everyone, or oversight for everyone. That is a false choice, and it is the wrong one for parents — who reasonably want private conversations with their partner and visibility into their nine-year-old's.
We do it by adding a guardian to the conversation — as a visible participant, encrypted to like anyone else — instead of handing ourselves a key to everything. The difference matters: a chaperone everyone can see is not the same as a listening device.
Nothing is hidden
When a guardian can see a conversation, they appear in it — listed for everyone, on both sides. There is no invisible observer, and no way to turn one on quietly.
We still cannot read it
Oversight adds a person to the conversation. It does not give us a key. Your family's messages stay encrypted to the people in them — we are not one of them.
Your own chats are untouched
Watching over a child's messages does not weaken yours. Same account, same encryption, no mode to switch. Your conversations with everyone else remain end-to-end encrypted.
Paired with on-device safety warnings that run on the phone itself, so a child can be warned about explicit images or grooming patterns without anyone — including us — reading their messages.
Straight answers
What end-to-end encryption actually means for you
Real encryption has consequences, and some of them are surprising. We would rather you read them here than discover them later.
- Each of your devices has its own key
- Your phone, tablet and laptop each generate their own encryption key, which never leaves that device. When someone messages you, their app encrypts a separate copy for each of your devices. Nothing is ever encrypted to an account, a password, or to us — which is why we cannot read any of it.
- Messages and attachments are protected differently — today
- Message text is end-to-end encrypted: the keys exist only on your devices, so we cannot read it. Attachments are encrypted in transit and encrypted at rest in our storage, but the keys for that are currently managed by us — which means, unlike your messages, we technically could. We are moving attachments to the same end-to-end model, and we would rather tell you where the line is today than let you assume it sits somewhere it does not.
- A brand-new device starts fresh
- Because messages were encrypted to the devices you had at the time, a device you add later cannot read what came before it — even though we may still be storing it. That is not a limitation we chose; it is what end-to-end encryption means. Anything that let a new device read old messages would also let an attacker who stole your account do the same.
- Adding a device needs a device you already have
- New devices are approved from one you are already signed in on. Signing in alone is not enough. That way, someone who compromises your login still cannot silently add a device and start receiving your messages.
- How long we keep messages
- We hold encrypted messages so your devices can sync and catch up when they come back online. When that period ends we delete our copy — we never needed to read it to delete it. This does not remove messages already on your own devices; those stay until you delete them.
- If you lose every device
- Your account, contacts and groups survive — you sign in and carry on. Your message history does not: it was readable only by devices that no longer exist. We would restore it if we could, but we have no copy of your keys. Encrypted backup you control is on the roadmap.
